Pomona

Pomona, named after the ancient Roman goddess of fruit, is a city in Los Angeles County with a population of 152,405. Located in the Pomona Valley, it’s situated between the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire. It’s home to California State Polytechnic University, also known as Cal Poly, and the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds. Located 30 minutes west of Los Angeles, residents can easily enjoy all the attractions LA offers. The city also has many entertainment offerings of its own, like the KABOOM! 4th of July Celebration, Pomona Arts Colony, Pomona Concert Band, Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, Annual Los Angeles County Fair, Fairplex Pomona Raceway, Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, and more.

Like most of Southern California, Pomona has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Throughout the year, the temperature will vary from around 42 °F to 92 °F rarely going above 101°F or below 36°F. Pomona averages 285 days of sunshine and 17 inches of rain annually. During summer, the area gets very little rainfall and can experience the seasonal Santa Ana winds, which significantly increase the temperature. Winter has an average high temperature of 68°F and brings the majority of the annual precipitation.
